MDR is an abbreviation for Motor-Driven Roller, also known as Motorized Drive Roller in CEMA. ITOH DENKI created a DC version of the Power Moller in 1988, incorporating a brushless dc motor, and then created the Power Moller 24 in 1999, with high speed, high torque, and diagnostic capability. More intelligence was integrated, including variable speed, acceleration/deceleration, and built-in control logic. ITOH DENKI refers to the DC version Power Moller 24 as "MDR."
